2

Prepare Your Submission

Create your work according to the competition guidelines. Make sure it meets all requirements for format, size, and content.

Submission Checklist:
  • Review competition brief and requirements
  • Ensure your work meets all technical specifications
  • Prepare any supporting materials or documentation
  • Write a compelling description of your work
  • Have all files and links ready before starting submission
3

Create Your Submission

From the competition page, click the "Submit Entry" button. This will open the submission form.

Required Information:
  • Title:A clear, descriptive title for your submission (max 100 characters)

5

Confirm Submission

After clicking "Submit," you'll receive a confirmation message. Your submission will appear in your "My Submissions" dashboard.

You'll receive an email confirmation of your submission. If you don't receive this within 24 hours, check your spam folder or contact support.

Writing an Effective Submission Description

Your submission description is crucial for helping judges understand your work and your creative process.

Description Structure

Introduction (1-2 sentences)

Briefly introduce your submission and its core concept.

Concept & Inspiration (2-3 sentences)

Explain your inspiration and the ideas behind your work.

Process & Execution (3-4 sentences)

Describe how you created your work, techniques used, and challenges overcome.

Relevance to Brief (2-3 sentences)

Explain how your submission addresses the competition brief and requirements.

Conclusion (1-2 sentences)

Summarize your work's impact or what you hope viewers will take away from it.

Description Tips

  • Be concise and clear - avoid jargon unless necessary for your field
  • Use proper formatting (paragraphs, bullet points) for readability
  • Proofread for spelling and grammar errors
  • Highlight unique aspects or innovative approaches in your work
  • Be authentic and show your passion for the project

Managing Submissions

After submitting your entry, you can track its status, make edits (if allowed), and manage all your submissions from your dashboard.

Tracking Submission Status

Your submission will go through several status changes throughout the competition process.

1

Pending

Your submission has been received but is awaiting initial review. This status typically lasts 24-48 hours.

2

Approved

Your submission has been reviewed and meets all competition requirements. It is now visible to judges and/or the public (depending on competition settings).

3

Needs Revision

Your submission requires changes to meet competition requirements. You'll receive specific feedback on what needs to be fixed.

4

In Judging

The competition submission period has ended, and your entry is being evaluated by judges.

5

Completed

The competition has ended, and results have been announced. You can see your final placement and any feedback provided.

Editing Your Submission

Most competitions allow you to edit your submission until the deadline. Here's how to make changes:

How to Edit a Submission

  1. Go to your "My Submissions" dashboard
  2. Find the submission you want to edit
  3. Click the "Edit" button (only visible if editing is still allowed)
  4. Make your changes in the submission form
  5. Click "Save Changes" to update your submission

Important Limitations

  • Editing is only available until the submission deadline
  • Some competitions may restrict the number of edits allowed
  • Major changes (like completely different work) may require starting a new submission
  • If your submission status is "In Judging" or "Completed," no edits are possible

Withdrawing a Submission

If you need to withdraw your submission from a competition, follow these steps:

Withdrawal Process

  1. Go to your "My Submissions" dashboard
  2. Find the submission you want to withdraw
  3. Click the "More Options" (three dots) button
  4. Select "Withdraw Submission"
  5. Confirm your decision in the dialog box

After Withdrawal

  • Your submission will be marked as "Withdrawn" and removed from judging
  • You can still view the submission in your dashboard for reference
  • Some competitions allow you to resubmit after withdrawing (check specific rules)
  • Withdrawal is not possible after the competition has entered the judging phase

Troubleshooting

Encountering issues with your submission? Here are solutions to common problems.

Common Submission Issues

File Upload Failures

Problem: File is too large

Solution: Compress your file or reduce its size. For images, you can reduce resolution or use compression tools. For videos, use a lower bitrate or resolution.

Problem: Unsupported file format

Solution: Convert your file to a supported format. For example, convert HEIC images to JPG, or MOV videos to MP4. Use free online converters if you don't have the necessary software.

Problem: Upload times out

Solution: Try uploading with a more stable internet connection. If possible, use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi. For large files, consider compressing them further.

Link Submission Issues

Problem: Link is rejected as invalid

Solution: Ensure you're using the correct format (including https://). For social media, use the direct link to the post, not your profile. Remove any tracking parameters from the URL.

Problem: Content is private or restricted

Solution: Check your privacy settings on the platform where your content is hosted. Make sure it's set to public or that you've enabled sharing. For YouTube videos, ensure they're not set to "Unlisted" or "Private."

Problem: Link works for you but not for judges

Solution: Test your link in an incognito/private browsing window or on a different device. This simulates how others will see your content when not logged into your accounts.

Submission Form Issues

Problem: Form won't submit

Solution: Check for error messages on the form. Ensure all required fields are completed. Try using a different browser or clearing your browser cache.

Problem: Description formatting issues

Solution: Keep formatting simple. If using rich text, avoid complex formatting or copying directly from word processors. If necessary, write your description in plain text first, then add basic formatting.

Problem: Session timeout during submission

Solution: Prepare your submission content in advance and complete the submission process in one session. If working on a lengthy description, write it in a separate document first, then copy it to the form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I submit the same work to multiple competitions?

This depends on each competition's rules. Some competitions require original work created specifically for that contest, while others allow previously created work. Always check the specific rules before submitting existing work to multiple competitions.

How many submissions can I make to a single competition?

The number of allowed submissions varies by competition. Some allow only one entry per participant, while others permit multiple submissions. This information is always specified in the competition rules. If multiple submissions are allowed, each one will be judged separately.

What happens if I miss the submission deadline?

Late submissions are generally not accepted. The platform automatically closes submission functionality when the deadline passes. In rare cases of technical issues or extenuating circumstances, competition hosts may grant extensions, but this is at their discretion. Always aim to submit well before the deadline.

Can I update my submission after the deadline?

No, submissions cannot be edited after the deadline has passed. Make sure your submission is complete and final before the deadline. If there are exceptional circumstances, contact the competition host directly, but be aware that post-deadline changes are rarely permitted.

How do I know if my submission was received?

After successfully submitting your entry, you'll see a confirmation message on screen and receive a confirmation email. Your submission will also appear in your "My Submissions" dashboard with a status of "Pending" or "Approved." If you don't receive these confirmations, your submission may not have been completed successfully.
